When I was completing my certification for Esogetic Medicine, I started to feel spines, shoulder blades, sternums, xiphoid processes, and meridian points, for the first time. As I started to go through peri-menopause, I noticed that my breasts need some lymphatic drainage support, and that I had headaches, which turned out to be sinus issues, around the time of my period. As I have shared before, peri-menopause is a time for us to see what needs to be addressed so we can enjoy the crone years of our life. It was only a couple of days ago, that I started to use massage (and pressure points on my jaw, neck, and shoulders) to guide congestion out of my sinuses.
I went to YouTube, to see if there was anything to validate what I was doing. Here's an example to get your started, but also follow what your body shows you it needs:
I share this because, it would be crazy if we were given a car, that we could eat in, go to all kinds of drunken parties, and nature adventures, but we could never look inside, or even attempt to feel around, so we know how it should feel and clean out what we find, before it gets disgusting. The idea of going to a doctor for checkups and them prescribing medication, reminds me of just shoving in synthetic air freshener every time something smells bad, or sending us to get parts torn out, if aother air freshener is not enough.
We need to stop being afraid to feel and know how our own bodies work! We need to learn to listen to our limits more.
I've shared a lot on social media, about recovering from cancer or using illness as an opportunity to heal unresolved childhood conflict and more. And I want to add, that the notion of "the inner child" feels wrong to me. We don't revisit younger versions of ourselves, we see why we had the beliefs we had when we were young, the impact of those beliefs, and why those beliefs are erroneous, and no longer need to hold us in negative emotional and physical states.
Shadow work, likewise, is just about self-acceptance. Everything we've done makes sense, everything that we are and have been is ok. We may have been conditioned to believe otherwise, but that is just other people's fear (masked as their opinion).
The sinuses are known for storing cellular trauma, generally sexual in nature, but that hasn't been my experience either. Yes, it's childhood trauma, that may not have been thought through in words before. And if you are prone to dental cavities, you likely have a lot stored in your sinuses that needs to be processed out. From the sinuses to the teeth is how stress lands in our body as illness.
We think about "removing blocks" as being mental, emotional, or energetic, but they are physical too. It's common for people to complain about a tight TMJ (jaw) or grinding their teeth at night. All of this physically blocks our ability to drain our head lymph (sinuses).
And then we have people who focus on "past life issues". Which are possible to address through past life regression hypnosis or Esogetic Medicine, but we also have so many issues in our current life that we can address too.
People get tired of addressing their issues, because they don't know how to exit the loops they get stuck in, repetition is boring.
Many people are tired of putting in the effort required. It’s not their fault, but their opportunity to try to overcome.
If you’re tired, rest, and when you have the energy, engage.
People are afraid to take the amount of time they may need off from whatever they are doing, but the shift in perspective, the growth in understanding, the improvement in your relationships, the releasing of garbage that you no longer need to carry, is worth it.
We don't really age that much in each lifetime. We may be a kid, teenager, adult, or crone our entire life. This is why the inner child is no younger than you are now, but you can bring him/her perspective, because you are no longer dependent on your parents for survival, you can see situations more clearly, understand and have compassion. It’s worth the effort, to make illness an opportunity to grow!
